If you have had a massage before you know it feels wonderful. It’s a great way to relax and it feels like an indulgence. However, massage has also become an effective treatment for many medical conditions.
Remedial massage is the assessment and treatment of dysfunction in the soft tissues of the body. It is performed to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management and to create favourable conditions for the body to return to normal health.
It can help to treat the following:
Neck and shoulder tension, wry neck
Headaches
Lower back pain
Sports injuries
Cramps and muscle spasm
Arthritis
Stress and anxiety
General muscle tension
Frozen shoulder

TECHNIQUES AND TREATMENTS
Techniques used may include:
Trigger point therapy
Deep tissue massage
Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)

Treatments may be:
One-off
Regular sessions every two to four weeks
60 minutes with a focus on a specific area or 90 minutes for full body work
Remedial massage therapy in conjunction with treatment from other health professionals can complement and assist rehabilitation by giving clients freedom to move after surgery and/or injury.
